Description

Sinn is one of the best and most technologically advanced watch brands you can find today. Founded in Frankfurt in 1961 by Helmut Sinn, a former World War II pilot, its first objective was to build reliable, accurate and durable navigation clocks and pilot chronographs. But since then this German brand has been consistently innovating so that their watches can be used by professionals in some of the most demanding situations. Some of their developments include: Ar-Dehumidifying Technology (1995 – freedom from fogging and preventing ageing of oils due to air moisture), HYDRO (1996 – reflection-free under water and freedom from fogging in deep waters), temperature resistance technology (1998 – perfect accuracy between temperatures of -45 °C up to +80 °C), DIAPAL (2001 – lubricant-free anchor escapement that enhances the lifespan of the watch) and TEGIMENT (2003 – effectively increased scratch resistance).

The timepiece showcased is one of Sinn’s pilot watches, the Sinn Flieger 356 II Sa. The main feature of this watch is obviously its copper electroplated guilloche dial, unlike any other you have ever seen. Its guilloche goes from the center to the periphery of the dial, in a uniform but wavy pattern, giving it a distinct and powerful presence. This is a well-proportioned piece, with a 38,5mm diameter satinized steel case and a lug-to-lug distance of 45,6mm. Along with the signed screw-down crown at 3 o’clock, you have pushers at 2 and 4 o’clock to work the chronograph function. In the main dial you have two chronograph subdials and a seconds subdial, as well as a date and day window (in German) at 3 o’clock. The hands and hour markers are coated with luminescent material and protecting all this features is a domed sapphire crystal. The beating heart of this watch is an automatic winding mechanical chronograph movement with a power reserve of up to 62 hours, with shock resistance. Finally there’s waterproof and pressure-resistance of up to 10 bar. This watch has been previously used but is in superb condition. It comes with box and papers and has been revised by an experienced watchmaker.

This timepiece is a real conversation starter that demonstrates your non-conformant stand in the watch market, showing your knowledge with one of the greatest German brands and one of the most technologically advanced in the world. A watch that will stand out in any collection and that will certainly endure the test of times.

NOTE: this watch comes with 2 extra links for its metal bracelet, but without the screws (you can request directly to Sinn). It fits medium and small wrist, but not larger ones. A brown leather strap is also offered with this timepiece, so you can adapt it to your own style.
